A Page-turner. It will sweep you along at a breathless pace. -Robert Gover, Writer's Digest School
"Buy A Ticket and Ride the Thrills"
Cruisin' with Vengeance — a thrill at sea and on land. Author, Roosevelt Mompremier, writes an exceptional thriller from start to finish. The reader is introduced to Rick Solomon, a man falsely accused of rape. After doing hard time in Miami Federal Correctional Institution, he is finally released. After enduring countless beatings and vile degradation, he emerges with rage and furry against his accusers.
In a perfect society, there would be no place for a corrupt judicial system — racism, etc. However, we live in a far less than perfect world and Mr. Mompremier introduces the reader to some of the darkest and most self-absorbed individuals, which in reality — do indeed exist. His plot is well played out and his use of gritty dialogue (where required) is superb. The author describes each character in great detail — so much so, leaving the reader to feel as if they could pick any one of them out of a lineup.
Cruisin' With Vengeance is a story about greed, lust, addiction, murder, and revenge. However, it is much more than just another intriguing thriller, it is a thriller with a positive message of how important forgiveness truly is — even under direst circumstances. As well, it is obvious Mr. Mompremier did his research while creating this thrilling masterpiece, as his knowledge of cruise ships and our legal system are depicted with great accuracy in his writings.
So buy your ticket and get on board Cruisin' With Vengeance, it's a hell of a ride you will not soon forget!
Roosevelt Mompremier, a humanitarian, a native of Haiti, is also the author of Cruisin' With The Dreamers. If you love a great thriller, I highly recommend reading this talented author's work.

A Gritty page turner, July 30, 2010
Cruisin' with Vengeance gets your attention from the first page when Rick Solomon is released from prison and sets out to avenge those who wrongly, but intentionally accused him of rape, to the last climatic pages where justice is meted out. The whole story seems to go by in a flash, leaving you wanting more.
Brilliant! A First-rate Cruising Thriller, August 17, 2000
By A Customer
I read Cruisin' with Vengeance and gave it a 10. Mr. Mompremier wrote a terse slam-bang plot with unpredictable characters motivated by their uncultured restlessness and outright greed and base emotions pushing the pace to the end of the novel. This is a very good portrait of U.S. majority society developed during the Reagan-Bush era - addicted to status-symbols, drugs, and easy money-any-way-you-can-get-it. In this society, materialism was and still is lauded and is still a society sex-obsessed and sex-absorbed to the detriment of higher education, aesthetics, or humane values which create great nations. This is a nation and society corrupt and in decline...as revealed by the majority characters in this book. One hears about the drug running and crime in Florida in the news, but Mompremier's characters flaunt their foibles and follies and are careless with their lives as if the end of the millennium was onrushing with Nostradamus accuracy and held no hope. Like generation X and Y. The whole society seems bent on living for the moment. The plot brings a mini-version of this to crescendo on the voyage of a cruise liner where there is no escape. People cannot escape their choices...ill-chosen as they are in this book. Racism being one of the evils of this society. Seems the women who fingered Rick payed dearly for their choices. Two men with them died as well. Random bad luck. A lot of murder in the U.S. as violent as this. Eye for an eye. In drug-saturated U.S.A., there's far too many lost souls who chase wealth but have no sense of who they really are. It's a Playboy culture - in cities like L.A., New York, Miami. The two women surviving are described as if they were centerfolds. The men looked at women through their doings. The women were opportunists. The lawyer got away scot-free even though he pressurized the girls to testify to lie at the trial and implicate Rick Solomon in a hurry- up-so-I-can-get-my-fee-in-the-suit-against-the-liner. It's why the public dislikes and distrusts lawyers (They become politicians), hustlers for money and power. Nobody to really like here - except Rick's grandma. Everything went back to white world. The book moves the plot well enough. Wouldn't change a thing. Has movie possibilities. It's exciting enough with good descriptions of the action and terror. In summary, I think Mr. Mompremier needs to leave the cruise line ships and explore deeper the evil and corruption controlling the U.S. I look forward to seeing more of his work in print.

Cruisin Killer, June 29, 2000
Cruisin With Vengeance is a non-stop action packed novel. Mr. Mompremier wastes no time in getting into an exciting page turner, right from the first chapter. He details the backgrounds of the main characters, and makes good use of flashbacks to do this. Also, his description of cruise life is excellent. As a veteran of six cruises (I met Roosevelt on a cruise in 1994), reading his book took me back and reminded me of certain things about cruises that I had forgotten. Overall, this is an exciting read which I completed in 2 sittings. I am looking forward to reading his next novel.

A Wild Ride!!
Posted August 8, 2002, 2:36 PM EST: Imagine your self getting so caught up in a story you can¿t put the book down. If you¿re looking for a book where the author keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is it. I can¿t remember reading another book where the detailing and the imagination of the author actually gets you to see his story as if you were in the movies. It was one of the most interesting and well-plotted books I¿ve read in a very long time. Roosevelt has a very special talent to be able to write a book like this. Not only was it a thrill ride to read his books it was more interesting and fun working with him.
